Happy Recipients of Shoeboxes
Start with an ordinary cardboard shoe box. Add a few school supplies, a warm pair of socks, some new mittens, a stuffed toy, a toothbrush and a comb for boys or hair clips for girls. What goes into a box can be fun, but what comes out is priceless! It can have an eternal impact in a young child's life.
Over 800 at-risk children in the Surrey area were delighted to open their Christmas shoe box and discover their hidden treasures. During the Sunday afternoon Kids Klubs, the dramas, the songs, the games and activities reflect the birth and life of Christ . . . but the gift box reflects a personal and practical care and concern for each child and family.

Turkey Dinners for 7: Graham Hanson, founder of Metro Kids, received turkeys and fixings, contributed from Church in the Park, a ministry of Sunday Line, for a complete Christmas meal.
Two high impact teams were mobilized throughout the summer to reach out to 15 different apartment complexes in the Surrey area. At 10 different Sidewalk Kids Klub sites each week, over 500 hundred children participated in an hour long program of games, songs, prizes while they learned a relevant life lesson. About half of the children had never been connected with Metro Kids before and, so now, new relationships can be formed with the families.
